We did just that this week as we cleaned up our winter wood stack. Ridding the area of the base layer of logs that were really unusable indoors, we made such a pleasant campfire. And no campfire is complete without a few hot dogs and marshmellows to roast. Smores are just one my favorite treats!
Here are a few photos of our memorable evening.
Jase and Jeffrey enjoying each other's company by the fire.
The whole gang
Colton enjoying his meal.
Luke admiring his Dad. (I sure hope he looks at me that way!)
Jase enjoying his newborn kitten ~ Marshmellow!
... and I just couldn't resist including this photo that Colton took of a lone hot dog. When it showed up in my slideshow, I just couldn't stop laughing. It looks so funny just sitting there. Must be my weird sense of humor! LOL
Take a little time to enjoy every moment!

That looks like so much fun. Mike has gathered all the branches and corn cobs so we can get our fire pit going this weekend. It will just be the 2 of us. Getting old is hell; let me tell you....
Oh, Lea!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos!
We love doing this very thing! Pulling the "bottom wood" out and making campfires! We always have to roast hot dogs and marshmallows, too!!!!
Blessings,
Julie
Looks like you all had a great time! Isn't it funny how food tastes better outdoors? LOL
That sounds and looks like a great time! Makes me hungry for roasted marshmallows! YUMMMMM!
Just loved the pictures, Lea! Sounds like a "tradition" there! That kitten is just the cutest!
I had gathered all the branches and twigs, etc., and made a pile earlier in the spring and was going to burn, but wrens had made a nest in the pile. So. . . . . no burn!!!!!
Cora
PS: Can I have that lonely hotdog?
How fun. You have a lovely family.
I enjoy your work :)
Blessings,
Doreen

Hi again Lea!
You left the comment on my blog regarding my post, "21 Suggestions for Success." This thought just came to me beings you have boys; you are probably already familiar with Bob Schultz's books, but in case not, I'm 'certain' that you would be. His first was, "Boyhood and Beyond", 2nd is, "Created for Work" and his new release is, "Practical Happiness." These make 'excellent' family read alouds!!! I think girls should read them too, as they will grow up and have babies some day, and some of those babies will be boys. :) Naturally, everyone can order those books from the Christian Book Distributor link on my web-site, http://www.abundantlivingandgift.com. :) :) :)
Hello Lea! Great family-fun pictures! I can smell the campfire now and yummy hot dogs roasting! Love the picture of the "loner' hot dog! To cute and Marshmallow the kitten is darling! Have a wonderful weekend Lea! Hugs, Maryjane
Looks like so much fun! God Bless, Celene
Oh how fun! I am planning to fix us a place that we can have a fire. You have got me in the mood for sure now. After I get back from a much needed vacation next week, I will work on that.
What a great idea - have a bonfire to clean up old firewood. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I'll be back!
Awwwww, that kitten is SO cute! :) Aren't they just always cuter when big guys hold them? *lol*
Greetings from the netherlands!
What memories you are creating for those boys!
I love the picture of the lone hotdog! LOL...I get pictures that pop up like that now and then...I just can't delete them! :)
Such a happy family...you are Blessed!
And you know I LOVE THAT KITTEN!!!! :)
Naomi
Thanks for sharing these photos!Looks like you guys had alot of fun!!
Awww...thanks for sharing with us Lea! I love family photos. What a hoot that lone hotdog picture is. How cute that Colton surprised you with that. And the little Marshmellow kitten...priceless! I also have a new kitty, Amanda Grace. Gina Marie brought her to me almost three weeks ago, but she was to young to be away from her mommy yet. The lady thought because she could eat and drink it would be okay to let her go. Well, she wasn't ready, so she went back to mommy for a bit. I have a slide show of her on my blog back a page or so. She is a calico. Just a little sweetheart. I am picking her back up tomorrow.
Your son's and husband are very handsome, and you all make a beautiuful family. I enjoyed this post!
Love,
Kimmie
