When we lived in Georgia, I was so fortunate to live very close the Little Quilts Shoppe and was always inspired. The ladies there were so kind and helpful, but somehow I never did get around to making one.
This year, however, my goal is to create at least four little quilts for my hallway ~ possibly one to represent each of the four seasons. And "Stars in the Snow" is my very first to represent Winter. The book I'm using now, "Little Quilts All Through the House", shows this particular pattern with the stars in red against a white background. It is really pretty, but when I saw this blue fabric sprinkled with snowflakes, I thought it a better choice for me.

While I did hand-piece the entire little quilt, I'm an amateur quilter so they are quite imperfect. I realize now that I pressed some of the seams the wrong way on them so the white shows through a bit. But even in their imperfection, I am quite happy with them ~ especially the way the white contrasts with the blue.
For now I have to put it aside for a few days while I complete 2 quilts blocks of a UFO sampler quilt that I began some years ago. It is an anniversary gift for my mom & dad, and I am so excited about it!

I love this!!!It is beautiful... I look forward to seeing the other seasons---no pressure-LOL.
I have never followered a pattern. I always made it up in my head but they have all been just squares arranged. HAHA. Thank goodness I find other people's work at bargain prices!
Please show the quilt you are making for your parents....

I love the idea of a quilt for each season. The colours look great I think the blue for winter is nice. I always think of red as a hot colour.

You know I have pondered picking up that kraft as well. I have been in the mood to try new and different things this year. I have been crocketing and want to learn to knit as well. I can't tell you how many times I picked up a ready to do it kit for a lap blanket with my 50% off coupon. I should have picked it up! LOL. What a wonderful resolution! I think it looks great!

I miss quilting so much. I sincerely hope to make time for it this year.
I typically don't use patterns. I just look at pictures and make quilts from that. Obviously, this doesn't work with more complex designs. I want to learn more about applique as well. Do you do applique?

I just could not get my 53 year old eyes to read the small print in your post today but the quilts look interesting Lea. I am finding blogs with dark backgrounds and fine print harder to read lately even with my glasses. I must really be middle aged! LOL

I have this book Leah! It is wonderful. I love the look of little quilts and I also love being able to "finish a little quilt" quicker.
