An Unexpected Surprise

It was just your average Sunday afternoon after church. My husband suggested that we stop at a little flea market on our way home. By the time we got there, Colton was falling asleep in the back seat so I decided to stay in the van with him while Jeff and boys enjoyed a few minutes of browsing.

Well it wasn't long before there was a peck on my car door. I rolled down the window to see Luke outside saying "Boy, do we have a surprise for you!" Let me tell you, my mind went wild. What could they have found? An old stoneware bowl? Maybe an antique oil lamp? Or dream of all dreams, a vintage quilt top that someone else had overlooked?

Closing my eyes in keen anticipation, I opened them to find:

Oh my was I EVER surprised. Now I love the farm and enjoy the animals immensely. I talk to them all and make over all the kittens and even the chicken gets lovin'. But I have never had an indoor pet. We had talked about it recently and I agreed that our Luke really needed to have a dog right now, but I wasn't expecting to take one home that afternoon. So I was REALLY surprised.

Well, this little 1 1/2 pound puppy has stolen my heart. He is the sweetest little thing. He is an apple head Chihuahua and will get to be about 4 pounds. After pouring over names like piranha, Little John, jaws, Zorro (I can't wait for a girl so I can name it Buttercup, Emma or Princess) and many, many others, we decided on Napoleon ~ the little general.

And so the adventure begins ...

Have a blessed Sunday!
Lea

He is adorable Lea and so are you and your wonderful family. I'm a country girl from Arkansas myself and reading some of these primitive crafts blogs and their links, like yours, really make me homesick. Give Colton a hug for me.

That is the sweetest puppy face I have ever seen! What fun you will have with that little one in the days to come. Our Mason needs a dog of his own, but we just haven't found the right one yet. Have a fun and blessed week with all of your sweet boys (including the new one!)

lea,
See you never know what the new day will bring, and from a flea market at that.Well the puppy is a cutie, and I bet getting all the attention any puppy could wish for. Now you need to get a bike with a basket so he can ride in it, just don't take your broom or pointy hat while doing this. People can get nervous. If Richard sees me with a broom he always says"going somewhere?" I'm getting this picture from the wizard of oz. I better go lay down now.

I have two full Chihuahua's (deer type) and two half Chihuahua/Rat Terrier cross, which I love. My little female Chihuahua is due to have puppies at the end of September. I just know you will love the Chihuahua like your own child. I know I lost the little Momma to my two full Chihuahua's during birthing and I thought I would just die. She was so very tiny and shouldn't have gotten pregnant!
The cross is a perfect fit and made just for kids, tough and durable! Full of energy and fun. I can't wait to hear more on your new love..If you were here I would give you a puppy if you wanted one when they were ready!
Blessings..dear Leah,
Pauline

My daughter teases that my little Min Pin, Leyna, has a "Napolean Complex". She's small, but thinks she's the size of a Great Dane. ;-Þ

Congratulations on your new little cutie, Lea! :-)

Welcome to the family,Napoleon! I love his name and I love his look. Chis are so precious. I wanted one before we had all our females spayed. Some of our girls are so small that I could never find a female small enough to breed them. Like your commentor with the crosses, I would have hated myself if I lost a female like that. It was sad enough when they had their c-sections! Mike and I both get real emotional when are dogs are in stress. You will love Napoleon more with each passing day. You ought to contact the gal offering a pup. Two of those would be so much fun to watch! I can't wait to see Napoleon herding his chickens! LOL

Blessings! Linda
