Aprons for a Cure

This year for Christmas, I created some sweet half aprons for my mom, sister, niece and myself. We chose some lovely pink ribbon fabric that incorporates teapots and lace and all things pretty & feminine. I made each one a little bit different and added some vintage linens for pockets. I like how the pink polka dots add a little whimsy and fun.

On Thanksgiving, we each wore our aprons in support of those dear ladies in our lives who have fought and are still fighting the battle with breast cancer. I wore mine in honor of my dear friend Cora, Cousin Wilma, my sister-in-law Teresa and Deena. You are always in my prayers!

Mom, Me, Kaila and Angie
Notice how Angie & I are the tallest in the group? We're only 5 feet tall! LOL

Finally, thank you all so much for your kindness and prayers for me and my cousin Mickey's family. They are still in such need of your prayer support.

Blessings,
Lea

Oh those aprons are lovely dear one!
You know what you should do? Add a 'prayer request' list to the side of your blog. That way when us bloggers click on your blog, that will be one of the 1st things we see and we can instantly pray. You can then update the list daily or weekly so we know what's going on. :-) I don't know, just a thought.

Bless you dear one!

Those aprons are just the cutest!! Now, I really should learn myself to sew.. *lol*

You're only 5ft tall? Wow! So.. that means.. even I am taller.. by an inch or two! And I always get teased for my height..

but mind you, people in Holland are the tallest on earth, so that's why I don't fit in..... my husband doesn't help either, he's a 6, 2"

Greetings from the netherlands!

Beautiful aprons Lea. You are so talented! I love that you wore them together in support of your ailing friends. I too have 3 friends with breast cancer. Maggie, Judy, and Dottie, and of course Cora. My brother's wife has ovarian cancer. It's such a devastating road.

You are the same height as my best friend of 35 years. I'm 5'8", so walking and shopping with her was never my favorite past time. :) I always tease her, "hurry up" and she's always saying, "slow down, you're always in such a hurry." Normal speed to me, but hurry to her. :) This is all in fun! :)

Continued prayer for your family members. :)

Darling aprons. I love aprons. I wish I could wear one to work sometimes! You know how handy it is to have a pocket in the front. Oh the good old days. Wouldn't go back though! Sweet idea.

The aprons turned out beautiful. And here I sit with a basket full of fabric and 'plans'. I have been furiously embroidering and since I don't tat,I will be sewing on eyelet lace for trim. I have a big note on my computer screen, reminding me to keep busy at it...
Your family get-together must have been wonderful. You are a lovely site in your aprons.
BTW-I am 5'10 1/2". I have always been the one they ask to get things from the top shelf! LOL

Sweet Lea,
You did such a wonderful job sewing all of those aprons - I can't choose a favorite! I have developed quite the apron "fetish" this year :) Even my little Mason like to wear an apron when he washes the dishes - too cute!

LEA,
You are once again the handy one. Those aprons came out really cute and what a nice idea to wear them in honor of your friends.
I really must get to making something with my new sewing machine. So far I just sit and look at it.
