Bountiful!

Isn't this a beautiful sight? A big bowlful of fresh plums. Jeffrey & Luke picked them from my father-in-laws organic plum trees. The trees were just laden with plump fruit. Their beauty was magnificent!

I couldn't help but think of the scripture that reminds us that all of creation is evidence of the Creator. Who else could but our wonderful God could create a tree with sweet and beautiful fruit for us to enjoy while resting in its shade. Thank you, Lord!

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Today I am thankful for:
16. Yummy plums
17. An elderly neighbor who spoke words of encouragement
18. God's word
19. A new recipe
20. A ride in the country

Blessings,
Lea

YUM!!! Those do look good indeed!

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take a plum tree to grow, mature and bear plums? Several years I am guessing, right?

Hope you are having a wonderfully blessed week so far!

Tuesday blessings,
Dawn

I have a colander like the one the plums are in. Not in as good of shape as yours, though. I used to have my mother's that was like that and it finally fell apart. I found another just like it at an antique shop but now one of the handles has come off. I still love it.
I have enjoyed visiting your blog and am going to check it out further!

Those plums look so delicious! I remember picking fresh plums from trees in my aunt's yard when I was a kid. That is summer.

Our Bible study group just finished the book of Romans--it was altogether a 2 year study. Soooo much more to learn! :)

Blessings~

they look so yummy!! Thanks for all the nice comments.... to answer your question I have a big backyard & then you walk down to the beach area! That's why we have no money... we spend it all on our mortgage for that view, but it's okay! The kids love it!!

I love this time of year - beautiful weather, fruit trees, green grass and more to remind us of how loved we are by God. Your post also reminded me that I have not added to my thankfulness list in quite a while. No matter what today throws at us, we all have much to be thankful for. Have a blessed day with your sweet boys!

I'm so excited because our plum tree has a lot of plums this year, for the first time!

Do you have any good plum recipes? I read about a plum upside down cake somewhere, but now I can't find the recipe anywhere.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today:)

Oh yummy Lea! I love fresh plums, but don't have access to fresh off the tree ones anymore.

When I glanced at your first picture of them, I said, "Oh yummy, Rainier cherries!" LOL Then I read and saw the other picture. :)

For the record, I do love rainier cherries too! :)

I'm glad you have this lucious fruit to enjoy!

God is good! :)

Lea,

They sure do look plump and delicious!

My dad picked some blackberries off our land in Alabama this past weekend, but only a pint jar of them. Do you know if that's enough for me to do anything with...blackberry cobbler or jam or anything. If so...do you have a yummy recipe for either? I figured if anyone knew..you would!

By the way, do you pronounce your name "Lee" or Leah"? I have friends with spellings as yours and they pronounce them different ways. I want to make sure I'm saying your name correctly!

Blessings to you Lea! I love your visits to my blog and you always have the sweetest things to say!

I am always so inspired by your blog. Plums are magnificent. My grandparents had plums, peaches and apricots. Great memories. Thank you, friend.
